what would everyone say the best webspace hosting type people are for hosting an active forum

the one that works for you I would say, lots of great hosting places out there - just have to ask the existing customers of the company your thinking about and see what they have to say.

I would say you're own server, or a friend of yours.

If you mean paid hosting i dont know but if you mean free hosting then id suggest 100webspace.com as they offer 100webspace in php/html, mysql, 3,000 bandwidth a month with banners at the top
