how come a poll can only have one question? Can't I do a "survery" and ask say maybe 10 or so questions ?

No(t yet), you'd have to make several threads for that type of stuff.
If you ask more than 1 question it aint a 'poll' anymore its more like an "investigation".
The usual definition of a poll is a single question which people have multiple choices to answer from.
Because it is, as you say, a Poll and not a Quizz.

It's just that people using my forum will like to survey other members of the forum on their opinion about several things. So I guess the only way to do it is to link to a survery web site like surveymonkey.com ? or I guess they would have to ask one question at a time. Oh well.
