okay then ummm open the file in notepad or some thing then change
<theme name="MyBB Default" version="1212"> to <theme name="MyBB Defaults" version="1212">

Can you go into phpMyAdmin and see what is listed in the mybb_themes table.

Try running these queries one at a time in phpMyAdmin:

UPDATE mybb_themes SET pid=1 WHERE tid=2

UPDATE mybb_themes set name='MyBB Default (2)' WHERE tid=21

not sure what that did, but it still all looks the same to me? I'm seeing grey smoke, lagniappe, mybb default mybb default (2)
