alright I was wondering how do I put a video in a thread that would be hosted on my forum?

You can either link to it (you need to have uploaded it first) or encage it in a flash player.
well I want to host it on my site so people have to visit my forum in order to see the video, so can I embed it or something like that?
Yes you can, You can use HTML of BBCode (I think, but not sure)

Umm what kind of file formats you planning on using. Also are you sure you don't just want to get a custome bbcode for youtube or something?
yea I want it to be on my site so that if people have a firewall that block youtube, etc. the video will still work, and also so that they register before they can watch the video
Just convert your video to FLV format, download a flash FLV player, and follow the guide on how what HTML to add.
its already in flv actually, but where would I add the code? and where do I upload it, any tutorials I can read?
