the bb board is up and operating well. I was checking out features naturally and all looked good. I came to the calendat and it displayed the month properly. i tried to add a public event. the event i entered didn't display afterwards. is there some feature i need to enable for this to work?

It seems i need an email adress to add you as a user.
Looking about the form for an email address for your email or generally for the mybb contact i discovered lots of ways to send an email but none of them revealed an adress which that particular field in the add new user function of the control panel might accept.
Have u set it so that admin have to approve each posting ?? maybe

I could see your testing message on the calendar and was able to post also, it was subequently displayed, so it's working properly. What was causing the earlier failure?

Might have been just a random glitch if everything's working as expected now.
