I noticed in my AdminCP there was a newer version, so I downloaded it, and followed the upgrade instructions, but when I get to the point where it says:

"Now go to yoursite.com/forums/install/upgrade.php"

It tells me this:

Error
The installer is currently locked, please remove 'lock' from the install directory to continue

What do I do?

Are you sure you uploaded the new install folder? Looks like you have an old one on your server. I'd recommend deleting that install folder and try reuploading the new one in the changed files package for 1.2.12 and try again.

Don't know why that happened, but that fixed it. Thanks.

Basically there is a file named "lock" in your install directory,
If that file is there the script voids it self from being used.
