G'day folks,

I'm looking to move my forum from a directory back to the main public_html default directory. At the moment, I have my MyBB installation at "http://www.domain.com/community/index.php" but would like to move the forum so I can have it at "http://www.domain.com/showthread.php?tid=289574" without having to delete it and reinstall it.

Is there anyway that this is possible? If so, could someone provide me instructions on how to do it? Sorry to ask such a stupid questions guys, but I don't know how to upload and restore the database if I was to have to reinstall it.
Hi,

You can just simply move the files over and it should work. No re-installation is required.
However, after you move your files, you'll need to update the URL of your board - simply visit your AdminCP, navigate into Board Settings -> Change -> General Configuration and change your board URL.

Good luck!
Thanks, Zinga!

The one thing I'm not sure of though, if how to actually move the files. Do you know how I can move them? I'm running cPanel.
That would be more of a question of software I guess. Umm, for example, if your FTP application supports it, you may be able to drag and drop it out.

The cPanel file browser isn't too good with dealing with multiple files, unfortunately.
