I'd like to add the 5 most recent threads to my homepage, similar to this:

http://www.pinkfloydonline.com/forums/portal.php

But instead of 10 most recent threads, I only want 5, and I don't want any of the other stuff thats on that portal page, just that strip with the recent threads.

How would I go about doing this? (I'm thinking it's some sort of php include code?)

Go to your admin control panel, then to "forum configuration," then to "portal configuration," you'll find at the bottom "number of recent threads to display." Set it to 5 and validate.
