Installation was going swell, untill I was about to set permissions on the avatars folder. I went into uploads, it wasn't there hmmm. I refreshed the page (in my ftp client), nope not there. Okayy. So I upload it again, still it doesn't show up. I try with another ftp client, this one finds the folder but when I set the permissions on it, it becomes a file and the folder is gone. Okay so I decided to clear it all, alls going well untill it gets to the upload folder. It wont delete. Now I have an upload folder that wont delete and I can't install anything on my site.

I would contact your host. Sounds like a file system problem on their side

Sure, but this problem only occurs when I change Chmod on Avatars and uploads. I switch them to 666, and then settings and config to 666. I got to install, then it tells me Avatars and uploads are not 666. I go and check on them. I open the uploads folder and avatars is missing and now I can't delete uploads.
No idea whats going on.

The folder-666-file problem sounds like a client problem.
Are you sure that you were supposed to set to 644 and not 666?
