and my mybboard database has 49tables

phpbb3 has 67.. so isn't mybb faster?

MyBB is noticeably faster.

Mybb isn't as popular because it's not as old as other software. But don't judge the software on how many people come back to the support site, I was using Mybb for a long time before I ended up registering.

Mybb may seen like it loads slower when you first look at it from phpbb3 but if you give it a day or two you will see mybb is a lot lot faster .

on topic: i think mybb is very popular its just not all mybb users join the support forums.

Yup that's coz mybb useradmins dont have as much headaches as phpbb ones do xD

As for server resource use, I'll let you do a comparison. MyBB shows page generation times by default. Forgot how phpBB3 does it, but you should be able to search it up.


All tests I've done show MyBB clearly generates pages much faster than phpBB3.

lol u sure? i ened proof.. bcz this is me converting to mybb or staying on phpbb3.

They both have the same speed at Stock level. When phpBB is customized it dramatically slows down.
It's your choice and your forum.

by far myBB is faster. I have used phpbb2 and phpbb3 and noticed the major bloat. MyBB does not hold much bloat. myBB also has a better caching engine.
