A Dutch user who used the MyBB Merge System (RC3) on his board noticed that after merging he was unable to post messages with accented characters [link to Dutch thread]. For example, the text

In België wonen veel aardigen mensen.

would after posting look like

In Belgi

As you see, only the part before the first accented character gets posted. When clicking the Preview button the text does show up properly.

I know the problem is vague, but these are all the details I know of. If you need more information, simply ask for it and I'll ask the Dutch user.

This is a problem with Character sets and nothing we can fix in the MyBB Merge System.

Could you give us information on how to solve this problem nonetheless? We have tried a fair bit already and to no avail.

UTF-8?

The same problem happened to me with a fresh install.
Any ideias?

Yes using UTF-8, should i switch to ISO?

Sorry for the mess i have found the problem, the language file are set to ISO and after switch to UTF everything was ok.
