YE sorry for bring this topic up but i mite go with softlayer for my server but people say they are rubbish well mybb is with them and well if it any good chris?

Really? Are you sure as I'm sure I can find tons of hosts who use their datacenters. But to really get a good word look over at WHT.

Softlayer is one of the largest pro providers out there. If you can afford it go for it.

Most definitely. As mentioned, this server is currently hosted there and we also have several hosted there for work. SoftLayer

I still think it's best to colo though if you know how to run your own server (which I do). I have the same hardware softlayer will charge $220+ a month for colocated for $90 per month with the same bandwidth. I paid $800 for the hardware (awesome Dell deal). I save $130 a month. Over the course of 3 years (life expectancy of a server is probably 3-5) I save about $4000. That imho is significant especially since the mybb project is free. Any savings for Chris is great.
Just a thought. And if you ever need server help I think you have enough qualified guys around you Chris.
