does anyone have a copy of version
1.2.10
as my host only has sql 4 and php4
I am using version 1.2.12
but the uploads and avatars do not work
i.e. attachments & avatars can not be uploaded.

1.2.10 is open to security issues. It works exactly the same as 1.2.12.
If you can give us a bit more information about the problem we should be able to help you get 1.2.12 working correctly, which would be much safer. What happens when you try to upload to your board? Do you get any error messages?

When I upload the software there are no error messages
everything works perfectly apart from the uploads
i.e. attachments & Avatars uploads.
as I have said my host has sql version 4 php version 4
an early version worked ok i.e.uploads

Yes they are chmodded to 777
When I had version 1.2.10 all worked OK
when I updated too 1.2.12 thats when the upload problem
started, it must be something to do with the path
to the uploads folder?
I've seen other posts with people who have the same problem
it must be the update?

The path used for all board uploads. It must be chmod 777 (on Unix servers).
I have my path set too ./uploads is that right?

The only changes which have been made to functions_upload.php since MyBB 1.2.10 are security related ones, so MyBB 1.2.12 shouldn't be breaking anything. I'd double check that your uploads folder is indeed CHMOD'd to 0777 (if you've overwritten a few things, permissions may have reset).
If that still doesn't work, please post the error message you receive when you do try to upload something.
