It's easy, but hard to figure out if you have never done it before. Here's what you do:
1. Download your theme and extract.
2. Upload the theme's folder to your images directory via FTP, example you have a theme named "blue" upload the "blue" folder to yoursite.com/mybb/images/blue via FTP.
3. In your Admin CP click on "Import Themes". There should be an XML file that came with the theme. Browse for this file and then submit the form to install the theme. Once installed, you can set the theme as default at the manage / delete themes page in the Admin CP.

Thanks, I got it.
Now when I try to install a shoutbox I did.
But when I try to make it appear on the forum index it says this when I click update template.

Weird. First, make sure the file is uploaded to the server. Then check the permissions of the file. You may need to CHMOD the file to 755.
