I know Nickman has a similar plugin but it creates a new table and uses usergroups to determine PM permissions. I needed something simplier that didn't add as much load or any extra queries. This is VERY basic in that it simply adds one extra setting under "Private Messages" in admincp settings. It's default at 10 but of course you make it whatever you want after activation. It's my opinion that if you have it set to 10 then you will prevent new user PM spam. Your staff and regular members shouldn't have less than 10 posts so having settings for each usergroup is probably a bit of overkill. Most don't allow guest PM's either.
