Is there a way to turn off signatures for a specific forum? If so, what modficiations do we need to do?

if there is not an option in the configuration options you find in the ACP, you simply can't at this time (MyBB Gold is being developed and we got to pray it will feature options like this).

You know, I had the same need as you: but I was luckier than you since I had the wish to create a different skin for those forums in which I didn't want the sig to appear. After creating the new skin, I simply deleted a variable in the postbit template.
