Hi,

The mybb folder has been renamed to the above, any ideas who/why and what I can do next?

It lives at www.harbourwatch.org.uk/mybb/ (usually) and is version 1.2.11

Cheers
Update to 1.2.12

After that, rename the folder back on your ftp.

That is great news, thanks. Any ideas on what happened?

Also where can I find a guide to updating to #12??

There.

What happened? You're running an old version which is vulnerable too hacking attacks.

Hm, sorry for giving the wrong link. I got confused by using 'update' in one of the posts above. Toungue

Thanks all, the board is now upgraded and back up and running.

I still have no idea what renamed the folder though!
Maybe someone has access to your FTP login and changed it from there. It could also be that the 'hacker' somehow created a PHP file that renames the forum folder. Smile

Yeah and upgrading should be for updating to major releases (e.g. from 1.2.12 to 1.4), while 'updating' is only for minor releases (e.g. from 1.2.11 to 1.2.12).
