Hi, I am currently waiting for MYBB gold to be released so I can make a start on my new forum, anyways if I was to use RC 4 how easy would it be to upgrade to gold, would I just have to download and install the new package, would all my posts be deleted?
It would be easy. Just a matter of replacing all of the files (other than the config.php and settings.php files) and then going to an install menu and choosing between installing a new forum or upgrade from RC4. Though, nothing is written from stone, but thats how the past few versions have been upgraded.
And no, your posts and data won't be deleted. Not much of an update if that happened eh?
You would upload the files (all but settings.php and config.php) and run the upgrade script. No data will be lost, but you should always backup the database before upgrading to a new version of any software.
