Well not so much just a list of features but a better look and cleaning up a little. And as well making some current features work better.

1. Who is browsing forum improvement. Basically a much more professional look to it. See IPB for example. Plus i think it would be better to have it located below the threads on the bottom of the forums. Plus it would be nice to see who is in the forum even when a user is reading a thread. Basically like IPB does. In short the current system is horrible. Basically useless for it's intended purpose.

2. Who is browsing thread. Instead of plugin have as a feature done the same way i suggested above for who is viewing forum looks wise. This is a very powerfull tool that gets overlooked too often by forum admins etc. Knowing who is reading what helps alot with getting to know who and or what your users are intrested in. Basically very powerfull user targeting tool. Smile Also helps with moderating which hopefully i dont need to explain how/why. Toungue

3. Basic Speed features that work like quick edit. Basically drop down menus like one for search up top of the forum. sorta like vB. Call it quick search or whatever. This would actually save resources by avoiding opening a whole new page like it is currently done.

4. Have a place built in to put in your location so it shows in all posts. And it would be also nice to know the exact date a member joined instead of just month/year.

5. A option to have the post dates month show Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct etc.

6. Move the homepage link from the bottom links to the top links.

7. Do we really need to show the following on the index page?
Quote:[image]- Forum Contains New Posts
[image]- Forum Contains No New Posts
[image]- Forum is Locked
No i am not saying to remove the forum markers themselves. Just the area on the bottom of the index page that basically explains what the markers mean.

8. Make it so the subforums can also collapse like the forums etc on the Main Index page do.

9. TWO Core themes ( One dark with smilies for dark backgrounds and the light like we have ) or a option to have it so forums using both light and dark themes can have/add smilies sets for each. Thus both themes wont be using/drawing off the same set of smilies. May help with attracting more themers as well.

10. A registration system that lets admins know who validated their emails when registration is set to admin approval/validation. Basically have it show who validated and who didnt. Greatly helps with spam and or trouble makers.

You can already put the location in the post yourself, but it will shown even when the user hasn't entered in a location. Regarding the join date, you can already change this - see Board Settings > Change > Date and Time Formats > Registered Date Format. For information on how to format it, see the documentation on PHP date().

You can already change this on a per-user basis... User CP > Edit Options > Date Format. Change it to whatever you'd like. You can also change it on a board basis in Board Settings > Change > Date and Time Formats > Date Format, again using PHP date().

???? Location? I have had to add that myself to the postbits ( postbit_author_user ) section to get the location to show up in posts???
<strong><span class="largetext">{$post['profilelink']}</span></strong><br />
<span class="smalltext">
	{$post['usertitle']}<br />
	{$post['userstars']}
	{$post['groupimage']}<br />
	{$post['useravatar']}<br />
	{$lang->postbit_posts} {$post['postnum']}<br />
	{$lang->postbit_group} {$usergroup['title']}<br />
	{$lang->postbit_joined} {$post['userregdate']}<br />
             From:  {$post['fid1']}<br />
	{$lang->postbit_status} {$post['onlinestatus']}{$post['replink']}<br />
</span>

That area is not BUILT IN. Wish is that it is built in. Wink

As for the other i have tried every last thing and natta. Still show the whole month. And again the wish is that it was a BUILT IN OPTION so no editing etc would have to be done.

Thanks for the tip about the registration date thingy. That did work. Big Grin
The whole point of having a template system is so you can add it yourself. What would you say if we started showing every single thing every single person wanted there?

Then why have this forum or a section devoted to feature request?

All i am asking for IS THE BASICS. Thats all. Most people do like knowing where eachother is from. I dont see how that is exactly asking for too much?

This forum is for ideas users have. The difference is, is whether or not it's a good idea. And I and the other developers get to make that decision.

I'll be sure to make a note to remove the template system for future releases.

Just FYI, the basics is what was in MyBB 1.0. Anything above that is more than the "basics"

LOL

1. I DONT CARE who gets to decide to add what. Again not sure of why you always feel the need to constantly point that out. NOBODY CARES. It is just a forum. Get over yourself.

2. basics = what just about every other BB system has TODAY. Not 5yrs ago. Rolleyes

3. Save your sarcasitic remarks for someone else. Again if you dont like the request then CLOSE THE FORUM. You honestly think your rotten/sarcastic reply will attract new users to this software? Think again.
Some really good suggestions come out of this forum. We're always looking for suggestions and feedback, but when we say no to your suggestion, you need to accept it. Insults are never necessary.

Oh i accept but but i dont accept the sarcasim which he could have left out of his replies. Sorry but that was uncalled for.
Which he could. How do you know what he meant? I don't see anything wrong with his posts.
