when i move a thread how do i get it to show as "Moved:MyThreadName" in the original place?
it just moves to a new location and disapears from the old....
Check the "Leave shadow topic" checkbox when you move the thread.
At the bottom of the thread, in the Moderation Options menu, select Move/Copy Thread. On the next page, make sure the option for "Move Thread with redirect" is selected.
Threads that you move with inline thread moderation (i.e. on the thread listing page) will be moved directly with no redirect

where exactly is that check box?
ohhhhhhh, i have to be INSIDE the thead to move it? if i check it, from the list of ALL threads, that option wouldn't show up?

Yes that's correct. The option of having a redirect is only if you move the thread when you're "inside" the thread.
