It's SPAM's 30th birthday today! The first annoying email was first sent 30 years ago today!

I think this is one of the only times where I say this when a birthday comes about.

I hope it doesn't see any further birthdays. Ever.
Everyday I wake up, I check my inbox. There sits an email from Armond Moran trying to graciously donate a million dollars before he does suicide. What a generous man; He only wanted my social security number, bank account number, and my address so his shipping company can come drop off the money. Toungue

The last spam message that wast hold by Spamassasin or Thunderbird was a publishment for viagra, signed by Microsoft Toungue
It does seem to be getting worse and worse. How many viagra and enhancement spams need to be sent? Just makes me wonder about the losers that actually respond. Jeesh

My friend has a Gmail account that he used to purposely sign up all the free subscriptions he could be bothered to find - this results in about 400 emails a day that are delivered to his inbox (as he signed up to them). He then uses this account to forward mail to people he dislikes at the time, just for fun.
He has replied to emails about enhancement and such a few times, asking for more spam but it didn't seem to work. He was sad.

We had a good laugh at some of the email addresses:
[email protected]
[email protected]

I think the links are the most important part of spam - replying won't get you anything evidently.
I've got used to SPAM emails what with using Mailwasher, but what ticks me of is getting emails that are sent to me using my own email account!! Sad
Yeah, I've never understood that one. I always wonder how they do that? Sending a SPAM email as if it's coming from me.

Mail headers can be forged. You can search Google for "mail header spoofing" or similar phrasing.
