Okay, so I finally got the installation to work (that was hell all itself, but my fault; not mybb, although I'd suggest much more descriptive directions for new installers).

Moving on, my host is bluehost. I installed mybb upon the webserver, and it appears to be running fine. The only problem is it's still locked.

• Removed the entire install folder
  
  
• Removed just the lock file
  
  

When I remove the entire install folder, the board runs, but still claims it to be locked.

When I remove just the lock file it won't show up at all; I receive a 404 error page.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you explain what you mean by the board "claims it to be locked"?

That should only occur if you're trying to access the installer, and you've already performed the installation.

Even though I remove the install folder, the forum still says "lock"ed.

At the bottom it says, "Forum is locked" with the small round grey icon and red x. It says this despite removing the install folder.
