2. I guess you mean the text in the category. You just add the a description just like it was forum.

I could use some advice on question 1.
I tried to get an announcement like in this forum but couldn't figure out how it's done.
When I set a global forum announcement it would only appear inside the forums, not on top where it makes much more sense.
Search gave me no results...
