I just upgraded my forum from 1.2.9 to 1.2.10, then did the 1.2.10 security update, then went to 1.2.11, then to 1.2.12. I did everything as per the instructions, however, the update didn't work out too well.
When my members tried to post, they received this error message:
Authorisation code mismatch. Are you accessing this function correctly? Please go back and try again.
When they tried to log out, they received this error message:
Your user ID could not be verified to log you out. This may have been because a malicious Javascript was attempting to log you out automatically. If you intended to logout, please click the Logout button at the top menu.
On top of that, I still get the weird symbols I described here:

I didn't really understand the page that Tikitiki suggested, as it was rather poorly translated by Google.
