Hello Everyone,

I am looking to install the forum on my Go Daddy site. What I am lookng for is a step by step installation instructions. I am not familiar with CHMOD at all. I am not sure what or how to use it. I am currently using Community Server forums and its just awful. I would really like to get this new forum software up and running so any help would be greatly apperciated....

I am not sure if there are any gottcha's when installing this to a Go Daddy hosting.. etc etc...

CHMOD is done via your ftp client . Assuming that u have ftp access right click on the file that needs chomd and select the chmod options (or permission option in other ftp clients) then change the chmod settings. for folders u should use 777 and for php files 666. Note. Chmod ONLY those files that need to be changed . for mybb the only files that need chmod are config.php and settings.php in the /inc folder. All this must be done after u upload the files on your webserver

Thanks for the CHMOD info, but I what if I don't use a FTP client,I currently just login to my folders on GoDaddy using a mapped link and drag and drop my files from my folder to the on-line folder. Do I have to use a ftp cleint to CHMOD these file, and if so are there any good free clients you suggest.

FileZilla is free, works well, and easy to use. And can be used to CHMOD.
