There is this mod

So is mybb 1.2 seo friendly or should i isntall this mod?

I have never had a problem with MyBB and SEO; the people who bone it big style will tell you to install that mod however. MyBB 1.4 will come with its own, built in, SEO.

Google and Live.Com (MSN) love text from MyBB forums. VERY nice.

Yahoo seems a bit stingy to index.

Ask.Com has indexed the home page, but not the forum, used in my signature below. Ask (jeeves) has some special requirements to fully index a site. Not even sure what their penetration in Search engine arena is????

The posts on this forum are indexed on Google, and as you can see, this forum does not have any SEO modifications.

Conclusion: MyBB is indexable by Google.

So would it be good to install the mod?

You're asking a question like "Would it be good for me to eat pizza?"

If you are desperate and think SEO is important for your forum, then you will likely install the modification whether or not I say it is "good" or not.

It's up to you. Personally I believe your forum will be satisfactorily indexed by search engines either way.
