Mine is as fast as this is and no i am not paying 200 a month for the server and nor is mybb for that matter.
Oh and no mods are available to do that as far as i know. For me this is the fastest forum software i have ever used and i have used all the major ones like phpbb, IPB ( Current ), smf, and vB.
My site is as fast if not faster then this site.
When it comes to hosting you get what you pay for...
We have a properly set-up dedicated server.
Exactly a Dedi server witch is how much a month? LOL
I got good hosting and it still seem's slow iuno why tho -.-
My sites are about the same as this site and I host multiple sites and forums on my server, only $30 a month for a decent VPS, even cheaper if you don't want cPanel.

Doesnt sound like you have that great of hosting.
Nobody else seems to be having your issues.
