Ok, so some interesting things going on with my forums.

First, a link:

http://forums.ndfa.net

I have been using the mybb software for some time, and today had some users complain of not being able to access the page in IE7 without using a direct link to a thread. For instance,
http://forums.ndfa.net/showthread.php?tid=241
would take a user straight to that thread, but just typing in
http://forums.ndfa.net
would yield an IE "This page can not be displayed" error.

After doing some research here on the support forums, I decided to upgrade form 1.1.x to the current 1.2.13 version.

I backed up the DB, backed up the forums directory from the server, closed the boards in the admin panel, uploaded all the new files, and ran the /install/upgrade.php

Now, upon visiting the forums, I am greeted with a blank page. No forums displaying at all. When i enter my admin panel and click on manage forums, they all show up -- I have checked and rechecked permissions on them and still nothing.

Perhaps unrelated, my "Admin CP" link now sends me to
http://forums.ndfa.net//index.php
instead of
http://forums.ndfa.net/admin/index.php

I can still directly access threads, and when in a thread, I can click on a forum and be brought to that forum, yet clicking on the main index.php link gives me nothing.
Additionally, I have checked the config.php and it shows

$config['admin_dir'] = 'admin';

so not really sure why my admin link is not working
So... looks like it was just an issue with the theme -- I added an additional theme and switched it to default... now it all works fine
