Ok I see what your issue is:

The message box reverts to the original quoted message when you press submit and have an error.

I can confirm that.
This bug has been fixed in the latest code.

Please note the latest code is not live on the site or for download. An update will be released which contains this fix.

What the heck has gotten into you? Should we start forgetting the username / email if you leave a field blank on the registration page?

How about if you don't enter in a subject on a thread? Should we forget everything you've just written?

You've made your point. You're suggesting a pm reply should be like a reply to a thread where the title or recipient shouldn't be lost.
