Will mybb 1.4. have a ability to assign a whole group as moderators for a specific forum? This was a feature I missed in 1.2.

For example:

Set the group "group1" to moderate "discussion".
That way, to once somebody is added to that group, they immediately become moderator for that forum, and when they are moved to a different group, they immediately stop moderating that forum?

No, you cannot add user groups as moderators in 1.4. However, this has been suggested for a future version of MyBB - http://ideas.mybboard.net/idea/usergroup-as-moderator.

I had a mod for an old version of MyBB which did this. I'll probably update it for 1.4 soon.

If so, do you have a link for it?

I'm afraid the mod wasn't updated for anything beyond PR2 but it's still around in the MyBB Mods archive. The code will no doubt be in serious need of updating. It certainly wont work on the 1.2 series.

As a note... it was suggested - that doesn't mean it will be added as a feature (though I think it should, as well). As I said, it isn't in 1.2 or 1.4.
