Is there a mod out there somewhere that will facilitate an automatic welcome thread for new users? If not, please consider this my suggestion for such a mod...

There's a bit of a bug with this mod. When the welcome post is posted, the index shows the last post in the forum as "Never." Also, the welcoming user's post count does not get increased.

Thanks. The only problem with this is that I would have to rebuild the counters every time a new member signs up.

By the way, the "Never" goes away when someone posts a new thread or reply.

I think the plugin can be updated so it uses these functions:

function rebuild_forum_counters($fid)
function rebuild_thread_counters($tid)
