Will this style be implemented in the release? I noticed the current beta displays similar to the old (1.2) editor.

Yes. What you see here is what you get.
You can change between the original editor and other editors (for example the Office 2007 editor) in the settings of your theme in the AdminCP.

I dont see that?
go to Themes tab, thene click on your theme, you will find little down in the page, a drop list with the available editor themes
