Hey Everyone, I am currently using Powweb as a web host, and SmartFTP as obviously my FTP. I am trying to put a forum into my website, and downloaded the MYBB files, and unzipped them so I have the uploads and documents folders. I get confused as to what I do next... I follow the steps and the tutorials and I believe I uploaded the files correctly, but am lost after this... Maybe I installed the upload folder incorrectly..

Please Help!! Thank You
If I were you I would wait untill the version 1.4 release which is just around the corner but what you need to do is upload whats in the uploads directory to wherever you want your forum to be and then navigate to that directory but add install on the end. For example:

I uploaded to http://www.example.com/forums so to install go to http://www.example.com/forums/install

From there it should help you through the install process but make sure you have first created a mysql database and have a username and password for it as it will ask for this in the installation.
I have installed MYBB and am able to login and check mybb, how do I publish it to my website? It doesnt just publish by itself correct?
Hi,

Could explain what is meant by publishing your forums?

Thanks.

If you mean so users can access it, you'll need to link to it on your sites home page.

Chris.
I meant exactly that, so that it shows up on my website.. I downloaded everything and now would just like it to appear on my website. I am very new to this, so I would appreciate all the help. Thank You
Hi,

You'll need to download using your ftp software, your sites main html file (that holdes the menu bar) and add the following to the page (putting the following were you want it to display, most likely in the menu bar).

<a href="http://yoursite.com/forums">Forums</a>

Replacing http://yoursite.com/forums with the full location of your forums.

Then re-upload the file, replacing the old file with the new one.

Chris.
i completely am lost, and messed up so I am starting over...

I republished my website from scratch, and only have 2 pages, from here i would like to install the forum, one problem i have is how to upload the files to a certain page on the site using FTP
Why did you start over? And you don't want to upload to "a certain page". You want to upload to a directory (or folder). Create a folder specifically for your forum (for example /forum). Using FTP, upload the contents of the Uploads folder to that newly created /forum directory.
Jude, thank you!! May I PM you for some help?
You really need to keep your problem on the board...and I doubt I can give you more help if reading the install guide and the instructions provided here already haven't helped you figure it out.
