Merging users causes this too..
It's how all databases work. We don't reuse numbers once they are given out.
hmmmm that might be the case of merging users......
but the software does keep both the users IDs the original one and the merged one.

Any user account ever created is assigned a unique number (the member ID). Yours is 13874, mine is 3971, etc.
When merging it makes the use of only
one of the existing member IDs. It does not allow the other ID to be used again though.
Same as deleting, even though the member account is gone, the number is still allocated and cannot be reallocated.
