It is on my local machine not on the net yet..

Hi,

Could you check the board url you have set?

Admin CP > Board Settings > General Configuration > Go > Board URL, Whats in that field?

For localhost it should be:

http://localhost/mybb

Where mybb is the directory you have MyBB installed in.

OR if you have it in the root directory (no folder)

http://localhost

I might have deleted some files, so I going to reinstall mybb.

However, I get this message when I try to backup database

You do not have permission to access this part of the administration control panel.

I am logged in as administrator, thought.

Edit your admin permissions and allow yourself the permission to use the database tools

Admin CP --> Users & Groups --> Admin Permissions

It won't let me. It gives me the same error message.

Check config.php and make sure your user id is listed for the superadmin option.
