Works fine for me (both zip and gzip) - You probably didn't download the whole thing. Try redownloading again.
Well, I downloaded the Gzp and its is extracted now but in FTP when I will chmod I can't set the required folders to 666.

You should talk to your host. And I believe they should be 755 for folders
