Hello,

When upgrading I followed these instructions:

^ There was no warning to Deactive Plugins so I never did, when the upgrade was complete the forum had loads of errors.

I then decieded to back up from phpMyAdmin and install a fresh copy of MyBB 1.4 - then I removed all the tables from that installation and am now trying to import the backup copy.

Then I go back to the forum and all images / themes don't display. Basically I am stuck where to go from here...

EDIT: I managed to Import my backup - now working, with theme.
I don't have any errors but I do have the "plugin settings" in Configuration settings...despite having no Plugins installed.

There was many warning to deactivate your plugins. First of all, we told you to deactivate them in the announcement and also there's a big huge warning in the upgrade script that's shown to you before you actually run the upgrade process.
