it would be awesome to add an option to add an event to the calendar, when creating a new thread, but giving the user an option to select date/time for that particular thread.

we could then also have the "upcomign events" on the bottom of the forum, the same way as the birthdays come up.

"Events on Index" Plugin by crackter do this
but associated to Calendar events

I had a 'mod' that gives you the possibility to create a thread when you add a new Event; but your request is the other way around if i read it all clearly =P

yup , but your mod could work too, do yoru events show up on the front page? or calendar only?
