How can i convert normal text like "calendârio" into the charset to put into language files?
i'm translating them into PT-BR ... but i dont know how to make these =x
If you translate through Admin Cpanel > Languages, you dont mind about special chars, they´ll work perfectly. But you must be carefull to use a copy of "inc\languages\english" and not the main english language. If something goes wrong you wont be capable to find the translation bug easily.

Quote:<?php
// The friendly name of the language
$langinfo['name'] = "Brazilian Portuguese";

// The author of the language
$langinfo['author'] = "seu nome";

// The language authors website
$langinfo['website'] = "http://www.seusite.com/";

// Compatible version of MyBB
$langinfo['version'] = "1400";

// Sets if the translation includes the Admin CP (1 = yes, 0 = no)
$langinfo['admin'] = 0;

// Sets if the language is RTL (Right to Left) (1 = yes, 0 = no)
$langinfo['rtl'] = 0;

// Sets the lang in the <html> on all pages
$langinfo['htmllang'] = "pt-br";

// Sets the character set, blank uses the default.
$langinfo['charset'] = "UTF-8";
?>

hmm... your Database charset needs to be UTF-8 too, I forgot that

Language Files and DB must both UTF-8, or both ISO

Here is a screenshot for my fast try here >>
I wasn't traslating from admin-cp ...
my DB is utf-8 and language too..
but i think that my problem is that, that i am not traslating from admin-cp..
where i can traslate from there?
OK i've found it =]
