I have forgotten my admin password, is there a way for me to reset this, as does not seem to work through the ordinary forgot my password enter email address method.
Please go slow I dont speak program very well.

you could go into myphpadmin
select the database for mybb
select the mybb_users table
click "browse"
you should see a place for "email".
if this is wrong or empty click the pencil to the left of your name
just put your email address in the appropriate field.
Now on the forums click "forgot password"

this doesn't work in 1.2.1.. is there a new key?

You need to set that in the password field, AND clear the fields named "salt" and "loginkey"

phpMyAdmin > DB name > mybb_users > Edit your account > Change password feild to 098f6bcd4621d373cade4e832627b4f6
salt & loginkey = null
