What is the MyBB 1.4 Gold? is it different the release one?

I'm not sure I understand. What are you trying to ask?

People are referring to the 1.4 release as GOLD release although I haven't seen anyone from mybb staff do so. I believe it stems from phpbb.

I personally think that it's fine if developers charge for the board. it's a great great job and awesome software. If it's price was let's say 10 or 20 dollars (or even more), I think no one would care paying it or even on opposite would be thankfully happy to pay it. Just speaking for my self. I think everything in the world has it's price and having it done for free is fine as long as the developer offers so but we can NOT ask or wish for it.

I believe it's a reference to MyBB 1.0. After all the release candidates, MyBB 1.0 was called Gold.

But then Chris wanted to just call it '1.0'.
