Full Version: Help ! can't log in to my own site ...

I made some changes last nite ... and today when i go to log on
it says " you have logged on successfully and will be taken back
to where you came from "

but .. when it takes me back .. it says " hello guest "

so it acts like it loged me in ..but .. actually didnt

all i did last nite was mess with memeber.lang.php ... dont know
how that would have messed this up

yep ... cookie settings are fine ...

still have no clue ...

note .. just tried with a different browser and still no go ....
Did you edit member.lang.php through your ACP or did you edit it manually (download file and edit)? If you edited it manually, what program did you use?

I used notepad ... and only altered the wording of the
newmember agreement ....

If you think this is a problem, I can replace it with the original one

Try changing your cookie URL from ".www.mikeamick.com" to ".mikeamick.com".

the problem was with member.lang.php ... I guess it doesnt like being
edited with notepad

so how CAN i edit that file ... I dont know HTML yet ..
It seems .lang files don't like links ( <a href=.....> ), I've tried putting them in and all it does is create errors, but other text formatting works fine.
I think you need to use '\' before certain characters, or it messes up the string. I know I used HTML in lang files before.
