Well, how exactly do I add something to the newsbar? I looked everywhere!

look in your global templates

In ACP go to the "Templates And Styles" tab, click "Templates" on the left. Then go to "default templates" (or whatever template you wanna add it to.) There will be a long list. Click "Index Page Templates"
Finally, click the first option, 'index'.

{$newsbar}

Add that under {$header}

Thanks, but the newsbar is already there. I just can't seem to figure out how to add the news to it.

If you're using my "News Bar" plugin you can go to your Admin-CP >> Configuration >> Settings >> Portal Settings and enter the forum ids of the forums you wish to pull the announcements from.

lol, I got what I was looking for. But thanks. The news is set by the announcements forums to be put on the portal.
