Basically, it won't let me upload an avatar, use one from a URL or even from the gallery. It just totally messes up.

If I add the URL of an avatar onto the Admin CP, I get this error which cuts my settings.php file in the /inc folder in half.

"The URL you entered for your avatar does not appear to be valid. Please ensure you enter a valid URL."

"The file upload failed. Please choose a valid file and try again."

And when I choose one from the gallery, it appears on my profile but nowhere else.

This seemed to trigger after I changed the size of the avatar in KB you could have from 10KB to 20KB. It's now at 50KB because I thought that would help, but obviously not. So I changed it back to 10KB and still nothing.

Any idea what's going on?

Make sure your uploads/avatars/ folder is CHMOD to 777.

pfft, i give up with 1.2 now i think. I'll upgrade to 1.4 and annoy you all with my questions about that

sorry to double post, problem solved.

it was the avatar directory. it needed a / before it >_>
