Hi,

I'm about to upgrade my board soon, and I know that some new fields have been created in the MyBB database as a result of plugins I used in the past, particularly the Thread Password plugin (which obviously adds an additional field in the threads table to store its password).

Will the upgrade process to 1.4 safely ignore these extra but unneeded fields?

Also, will it revert the table back to a "clean" state, much like a fresh install of MyBB, or will these extra fields remain?

As long as you deactivate the plugins, the upgrade script will make sure everything fine... there may be settings groups or unused tables left afterwards but they wouldn't cause any problems. And as long as the plugins are deactivated, it should go clean like you said... and even if it doesn't and they're still there, they won't get in your way.
