I want to install mybb 1.4 but my host have active mod_security2 that can not be disabled. In ACP when i want to install a theme error , when i want to create a forum error.With htacces i give the same eroor.Please help me Sad
Well it sounds like you haver to discuss it woth your host.
Well can you make .htaccess or php.ini scripts?
Hang on, what is mod_security2?? Does it just mean you can't edit things??
mod_security is an apache module which tightens up security...so tight it effects a lot of php scripts. Sad
Ouch... if that were me I'd just change host.
It's not bad that a host runs mod_security. There are things you can do to a script that will allow it to run with mod_security. I think mybb has some posts about support for it.
Mod_security is actually a pretty awesome module... it essentially acts as a firewall for the server. It can detect attacks in real-time, where they are coming from and can even automatically stop an attack, as well as some other fancy stuff I'm sure it can do...

I'm pretty sure it's open source too - but Labrocca is right, it can mess up some PHP scripts quite badly...
