Can i change to way how the stats.php file gets stats (last member, last post,.....) ? i just want to know if that will affect the forum or not ??

It shouldn't effect it if you make your changes properly and they don't interfere with anything else.

yes..that what i meant..because my stats file doesn't work properly & and want to customise it..
for example: couting members by counting db rows..
