Removing the language file seems to make this more visible.

No, just the CAPTCHA one... actually maybe it's captcha_fonts.

Where is the file?
Please specify the exact path and how do I delete a file...

Do you have FTP access??

./inc/ and delete the folder 'captcha_fonts'. See if that works, and if not, re-upload it. This worked for someone else so it should work for you.
