I've had a look in all the obvious places on this support forum and am surprised as this does not seem to have been noted before, but here is my problem....

Browsing with Firefox, when you are not logged in, if you click on an attachment, it rightly tells you that you are not logged in and goes to the login screen. You log in and it tells you that you have been successful and that you will be taken back. But you are not. You get the download and then the message window about taking you back stays there. If you click on "don't want to wait" it just gives you the download again and leaves the same message there! Of course you have no other links to follow on that message screen.

It does not happen in explorer, I have not tried other browsers. It's not a massive problem, just a bit annoying.

Tested all the steps you describe with Firefox 3.0.1

Attachment download window appears as I Logged In. ( Attachment from http://www.irseexam.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=107 )

So..., for me works OK.

Thanks for looking, but you only went part of the way. I said that you get the download OK, it is what happens next that is a problem. Download and where does it take you?
Ah! OK!

I get it! Well, it's a "bug" of the Login form.

It takes you from whatever parte of the forum to the same part. Let me be more clear: if you login form a Thread, when you login it takes you to that thread. So..., if you login from an Attachmment, it will take you again to that Attachment ( http://www.irseexam.co.uk/attachment.php?aid=156 )

So you have to change ( Think it's on the Admin CP) where the Login Form redirects you after login (I'm not sure right now ehre it is).

Sorry for my error :/

We are all entitled to slip up occasionally. I'll have a look in admin CP, but I am interested to know why it does not repeat the problem in IE7 (at least I don't recall it does, don't have access to it here, so I'll try later).

Thanks.
I think this is a limitation. The login form redirects you to the previous page (the attachment you were trying to view), which works perfectly since you received the download. If you click on the link, you receive the download again, because that was the "previous page you were trying to view".

Thanks. Provided I know it is not me, I'll live with it! I guess you can add that to the pot of things to think about for future. I checked and I was wrong about it not happening in IE. I must have imagined that.

Thanks for the the responses.
