With 1.4.2, if I edit any user details as an admin, I get:

I can understand this if MyBB prompts me for a password but it doesn't!
I guess it's a new security feature but it doesn't look like it is working properly. This is a fresh install of 1.4.2 (the upgrade trashed the existing system).
I also get warnings about the default language being non-existent as well.

You have to make sure you don't edit the password fields.

I think I'm grown up enough to know when I'm editing the password fields.
It didn't happen this way in 1.4.0 - have you tried editing users in the ACP in 1.4.2? Try changing an avatar. I guess you won't have problems....

(But for what it's worth, I did what you said, and I saw the error you described. However the profile and the avatar updated, so I have to ask, why not just ignore it??)
Matt, you were being pretty patronizing, not surprised he got upset.
I'm actually having a similar problem. When editing a user in the CP, if "Use Default Language" is set as the user's language, it says the language doesn't exist. :|
How was I being patronizing?? I said what he has to make sure he isn't doing...
